Family allowed to claim Disneyland Paris holiday win

Despair turned to delight on Friday for a family who have scooped a dream holiday to Disneyland, Paris.

Kara Radic and her family were devastated when they discovered a golden ticket in Morrisons’ Magical Moments competition 36 hours after the deadline to claim the prize had passed.

They appealed to the company but earlier this week Kara, partner Jamie Kearns and children Ellis, seven, Ruby, five and Junior, ten months, were told they would not be able to go on the trip.

The County Press newspaper  contacted the company to see if anything could be done and the supermarket chain  telephoned the family on Friday and told them they would be able to claim the prize.

“We are so happy, the children are over the moon. It’s brilliant news,” said Kara. And there was more to celebrate for the family.

“We had talked about getting married if we won the trip and we’re going to do it now, it will make a fabulous honeymoon,” said Kara, of St Margaret’s Glade, Ventnor

Disneyland Paris holiday giveaway by Morrisons.

Morrisons supermarket is teaming up with Walt Disney for a major summer promotion in which the supermarket will give away a thousand two-night family holidays at Disneyland Paris.
The winning ‘golden tickets’ will be distributed in packets of Disney character trading cards. The promotion begins on 11 July and runs for the next seven weeks. Customers will receive a packet of cards for every £30 they spend in Morrisons, as well as extra packs when they buy any one of 140 top brands, including PG Tips.
“We wanted to run the biggest giveaway of the summer and give every one of our customers a chance to win a fantastic prize,” said Morrisons commercial director Richard Hodgson. “We just hope that 32 million packets will be enough to cope with demand.”
Ginger Taggart, executive marketing director for Disney Destinations International UK, said “We believe this will resonate with shoppers by providing something for their children to enjoy, with the added benefit for parents of a chance to win one of the stays.”
