London Resort Company Holdings the group behind the proposed £3.5 billion ‘London Resort’ theme park, has brought in a new group of senior staff to push forward with the project.
The Intercontinental Hotel Group, the owners of Crowne Plaza and the Holiday Inn Express group of hotels has been brought on board to operate the resort’s 3,500 hotel rooms.
Humphrey Percy, group CEO of the project’s parent company Kuwaiti European Holdings, said he is confident that plans will be approved and affordable.
“We have the financial backing to take us all the way through that process,” he added.
The company is due to make an application for planning permission this year.
If the Government approves the plans, the park will be built in the Swanscombe Peninsula in Dartford, Kent and could be open in 2023.
