Eurostar to stop direct trains next year

From the 4th of January 2010 Eurostar will stop the direct London St Pancras International to Disneyland Paris service in both directions on Tuesdays and Saturdays except during school holidays.

Eurostar spokes woman Aude Criqui commented on the changes “The daily direct Disney service will be reduced to five services a week from 4 January until 31 March 2010 on weeks outside school holidays”.

“Eurostar has worked closely with Disney to ensure that the services operate on days where there has traditionally been higher demand. The service will therefore not operate on Tuesdays or Saturdays”.

“Not operating these services will naturally ensure travel on the other weekly Disney services which will ensure better loadings and cost efficiencies for Eurostar. However, Eurostar can easily reinstate these services if the demand increases”.

On Tuesdays and Saturdays Eurostar passengers traveling to Disneyland Paris from London St Pancras International will have to change at Lille International and transfer onto a TGV for onward travel to Marne-la-Vallee.

Alternatively passengers can travel to Paris Gare du Nord International where they can reach Disneyland Paris using the regional RER train to Marne-la-Vallee.
